New to Fostering
You can make a huge difference to a child or young person’s life as well as to your own. New Life fostering does not have fixed ideas about who makes a good foster carer. This is because all children have their own unique heritage, therefore, we are looking for foster carers from a wide range of backgrounds, races and religions, which are warm, caring and open to learning and have the time and patience to look after children and young people.

New Life Fostering provide free on-going training throughout the year. This includes group training, online training and one to one training; to make sure you fully understand your role as a foster parent and to provide you with the skill set to support your successful future as a fostering home. All our training is held at our New Life office to make sure it’s convenient for our foster carers. We also arrange for regular local support groups where newly approved foster carers have the chance to meet up with our experienced foster carers and share their experiences with them.
Fostering a child is often a long term and serious commitment by all members of the family and/or everyone you live with. Therefore, as part of the Assessment Process your whole family will be assessed when you apply. There is no doubt that family life will change when you foster. Our professional team will, during the assessment process, explain and help you understand the potential changes you may need to make, and guidance on how to make fostering a positive and rewarding experience.
